The Back Hill started in December 2021 with a groomer made from upcycled redwood decking had no intentions of ever becoming a park rat’s dream. What was suppose to be for quiet cross-country trails quickly turned into a full pledged ski hill. Today, barring snowfall, The Back Hill is a community favorite with booters for every age group, creating lifelong memories for those close to us.
Upcycling for Corduroy
Our old redwood decking got a second life as an experimental snow groomer. The front features rakes to level out deep holes. A heavily weighted rear packs it all down, while a routed underside carves out the corduroy finish.

From Nordic to Big Air
What started as a quiet idea for cross-country ski trails quickly went vertical. The flat tracks were officially abandoned in 2022 when Easton and Ruby decided cardio was for the birds, leaving only one logical next step: build jumps.

The Fine Line of Winter Fun
It is pure entertainment until the machine bottoms out. Powder makes for soft landings, but digging the UTV out of a ditch can instantly turn a quick lap into a grueling workout lasting anywhere from thirty minutes to the entire afternoon.

Rainbow Bowl
Expanding further up the hill triggered the birth of what is now known as Rainbow Bowl. This push nearly doubled the vertical feet, delivering a much-needed injection of terrain variety to The Back Hill.

The Booter
The arrival of the big booter changed the game, giving way to a new era of backflips and doubles. Dialing it in required hours upon hours of pushing snow, meticulously sculpting the perfect takeoff and a forgiving landing.

The Winter That Wasn’t
The 2025/26 winter season left the hill completely silent, failing to yield a single run on The Back Hill. Going down as one of the worst winters on record, the historic lack of snow turned what should have been a season of progression into a devastatingly horrible year.
